Lady Gaga - Artist Of The Month

April 30, 2011

Lady Gaga continues to take over the world. "Born This Way" was her third single to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also became the 1000th number-one song on the Hot 100, spending a total of six weeks atop the Hot 100. It became the fastest-selling song in iTunes history, selling one million copies in five days. Her second single "Judas" has yet to meet the same success, but in my opinion is a much better song and deserves all the success it gets. The album is to be released May 23rd, which makes it fitting that Godga is this months "Artist Of The Month". Check out her first live performance of "Judas" on Ellen below.

Calvin Harris feat. Kelis - Bounce

April 29, 2011

Scottish singer/songwriter/producer/DJ, Calvin Harris, has released his second single "Bounce" featuring Kelis. The track is the second single to be lifted from his upcoming album, with a music video set to premiere soon. It's a hot dance track. What do you guys think?

Christina Perri - Arms (Video Premiere)

Christina Perri has recently released the music video for her first official single "Arms" off her upcoming debut album. She's mostly known for her amazing song "Jar Of Hearts", which charted in the US after it was featured on the FOX television show So You Think You Can Dance in 2010. Perri's debut album is titled "Lovestrong", and is scheduled to be released on May 10th. The video is quite cute, but do I see a tiny car commercial in there somewhere? Whatever brings in the cash, I guess! She needs it though. Check it out.

Heather Morris feat. Corrina Dolan - So Luv-a-licious (Video Premiere)

April 27, 2011

The flawless Heather Morris, otherwise known as Brittany S. Pearce on Glee, has premiered a music video alongside “Show Us How You FLIRT!” contest winner Corrina Dolan, for “So Luv-a-licious” in honor of the launch of FLIRT! Cosmetics latest product launch, Luv-a-licious Perfume! I'm not gunna lie, it's a complete mess. Rebecca Black's "Friday" may actually be better than this, but I don't care as long as Heather is werkin' it in front of the camera.

Colette Carr - (We Do It) Primo

Singer/rapper Colette Carr has premiered her first official single "(We Do It) Primo" from her upcoming debut album "Skitzo", due out later this year. The track was produced by label-mate Frankmusik, and samples Keane's "Somewhere Only We Know". I remember watching the video for "Bitch Like Me" and thinking nothing of her, but at least the new single sounds better.

Aria Crescendo - Borrow You

If you don't recognize Aria Crescendo, it's probably because The Paradiso Girls flopped so hard they decided to split, much like The Pussycat Dolls, minus the less than stellar musical career. Aria first rose to fame in France when she became a yoga teacher in popular reality TV show Star Academy. At that time she also worked as a dancer at the Crazy Horse Cabaret where she met Jimmy Iovine with whom she brainstormed The Paradiso Girls project along with Robin Antin who then became their agent. Honestly, they were fucking fierce as hell. Along with Chelsea Korka, second runner-up on Search For The Next Pussycat Doll, they had one of the best summer dance tunes ever with "Patrone Tequila". That was my jam 2 summers ago! Apparently Aria has decided to go solo and release this track. Definitely not up to par with what she was doing in The Paradiso Girls. She was always my least favourite anyway. Check out the video for "Borrow You" below.

Beyonce - Move Your Body (Video Premiere)

My flawless Queen B is a very busy superstar, but she still has time from working on her new album and promoting her new single, to work on a music video for "Move Your Body". It's basically "Get Me Bodied" but re-worked with new lyrics for a campaign aimed at overweight youths in the hopes of getting them moving and healthy. Beyonce Knowlegend was the first major celebrity to get on board the First Lady’s Obesity Campaign, which began earlier this year. Watch her werk it in a school cafeteria and sweat it out with the kids while wearing heels, keeping it very energetic as usual.

Her Majesty & The Wolves - Goodbye, Goodnight (Video Premiere)

April 26, 2011

Her Majesty & The Wolves is a musical duo consisting of the fierce and fabulous ex-Pussycat Doll, Kimberly Wyatt and Jupiter Rising member, Spencer Nezey. Today they released the music video for their new single "Goodbye, Goodnight". Watch as Kimberly puts her extensive dance training to good use, all with a giant smile on her face. I love her. If you like what you hear, definitely check out their other singles "Glaciers" and the more commercial "Stars In Your Eyes".

Kat DeLuna - Drop It Low

Moving on from J.Lo's swagga-jackin' ways, Kat DeLuna has decided to release yet another track called "Drop It Low".  Her biggest hit was "Whine Up" back in 2007 and nothing else has picked up stateside ever since. Kat has had some success overseas with her sophomore album "Inside Out", and now she's ready to give the U.S. another try. Her latest single "Dancing Tonight" currently sits at #3 on the Billboard Club Chart at least. "Drop It Low" is set to serve as a single off her U.S. sophomore album "ViVa". She's definitely working hard to make it, and she has an incredible voice with her 4 octave vocal range, so hopefully she gets another hit soon!

Neon Hitch - Silly Girl

April 25, 2011

Neon Hitch released a new buzz track today, "Silly Girl", produced by Benny Blanco and co-written with Switch. Neon has been working on her debut album "Beg, Borrow & Steal", due out later this year. The track has a reggae flavour to it along with its electro-pop beat and maybe a little too much auto-tune. But she's still amazing. Check it out below.

Kaya Jones - Waiting For Saturday

April 24, 2011

Kaya Jones is a fellow Torontonian and an original member of The Pussycat Dolls from 2003-2004. Jones left the group after recording two songs for the PCD album, to pursue modeling, and a solo musical career. Biggest mistake of her life. But a girl's gotta try, right? Here she is, trying, with a new song and video for her new single "Waiting For Saturday".

Nicki Minaj & Ke$ha join Britney for "Till The World Ends" Remix

April 22, 2011

Holy shit! This month is full of amazing debuts and remixes! Godney was supposed to release a new remix of "Till The World Ends" on Monday to radio, featuring none other than tour opener Her Minajesty and the song's actual writer Ke$hus Chri$tus, but it's leaked early! It's crazy to see all the top bitches on the charts all at the same time. Beyonce and Gaga's new singles may be in trouble with another Brit remix. "S&M" has already taken #1. Take a listen to another epic collaboration below!

Katy Perry performs "E.T." on American Idol

April 21, 2011

Katy Perry was on American Idol tonight to perform her 4th #1 hit, "E.T." with the unnecessary help of Mr. Douchebag himself, Kanye West. It was a pretty awesome performance for a small stage, what with her flashing intergalactic bodysuit and her bone-breaking back-up dancers. She also sounded great. Better than usual, which leads me to think she may have been singing over a pre-recorded live backing track, but know knows. She usually sings everything live, so let's just go with that.
In other Katy news, "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" is set to be her next single lifted from Teenage Dream. This is probably the best choice, and one of my favourite songs on the album. Very radio-friendly (as if we haven't heard enough of her on the radio every 5 seconds) and a possible 5th #1 song. This bitch is on a roll! We'll see how she does soon enough.

Introducing: Alexis Jordan

If you didn't know who Alexis Jordan was, you do now! Alexis is a singer and actress from Columbia, South Carolina. Jordan rose to fame as a contestant on the first season of America's Got Talent in 2006. After being eliminated from the show, she began to upload cover songs to YouTube which led to millions of views. The exposure led her to the attention of Stargate and Jay-Z, who both went on to sign her to their label, StarRoc/Roc Nation. Her debut single, "Happiness", was released in September 2010, and reached number one in Norway and the Netherlands, and also became a top-five hit in Australia and the UK. "Good Girl" was released as her second single in February 2011. The song debuted at number six on the UK Singles Chart, giving Jordan her second top-ten hit in the UK. It also reached number fifteen in Ireland, and became her second chart-topper on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart in April. Jordan's self-titled debut album was released on February 25th, but I only found out about it today! Her songs are usually remixed and end up being great dance tracks for the clubs. Check out the videos for her first two singles under the cut and make sure to buy her debut album on iTunes!

Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo, Blake Shelton & Adam Levine - Crazy

The Voice is upon us, premiering next Tuesday, April 26 at 9 on NBC. The four judges (Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo, Blake Shelton & Adam Levine) of the upcoming singing competition, put on a performance of Cee-Lo's worldwide hit with Gnarls Barkley, "Crazy". The performance was part of a sneak peak look at NBC’s premiere episode for the show. Check it out below. They all sound really good but Xtina especially, of course. I can't wait to get a weekly fix of my favourite dirrty girl and that sexy piece of ass, Adam Levine. Move over American Idol!

Beyonce reveals official single cover art and teaser

April 20, 2011

Beyonce has officially revealed the cover art for her new first single "Run The World (Girls)" and has announced that it will be released to radio and iTunes tomorrow. Queen B co-produced the track with Switch and Shea Taylor, and co-wrote it with The-Dream. She has also released an official "Revolution" teaser video. There's no confirmation, but I really hope that that's the title of the new album!

Park Bom - Don't Cry

Park Bom, or Bom as she is known in the amazing K-Pop group 2NE1, has released the music video for her second solo single "Don't Cry", which is being used as a warm-up before the new 2NE1 single drops. The video picks up where her first solo single "You & I" left off, which told the story of a newlywed couple coping with illness and having Bom play the wife trying to make her terminally ill husband's last days of life special. It isn't the greatest thing ever, but it's a start! I can't wait for some new 2NE1 music!

Rihanna reigns with 10th #1 hit!

Praise Rihallah! Princess RiRi has done it again, scoring another #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, this time with the help of Britney Spears and her collaboration on "S&M".  This makes it Rihanna's 10th #1 hit, breaking the record for the shortest span between a solo artist's 1st and 10th #1's in the charts 52-year history. She is also the youngest person to accomplish that feat thus far. And with Britney being a featured artist on the track, she earns herself her 5th #1 as well.

"That Rihanna reign just won't let up!"

Jessie J performs on Jimmy Kimmel

April 19, 2011

Jessie J continues her stateside promo, this time performing on Jimmy Kimmel to a bigger crowd that actually seems to enjoy her. Her album is in stores now and she's being talked about a lot more, so hopefully she gets a bigger fanbase out of all the exposure. I hope she comes to Toronto, I really need to see her live! Check out her performances of her singles "Price Tag" and "Nobody's Perfect".

Keyshia Cole - Take Me Away (Video Premiere)

Earlier today, Keyshia Cole dropped her new video for the latest single "Take Me Away" off her lowest selling album to date, Calling All Hearts. This was probably the best choice to release as a single, seeing as it is more up-beat and not as boring as the rest of the album. Keyshia is currently working on her next album after receiving such a negative response to Calling All Hearts. It's nothing special, just your average R&B video, but if you've liked her previous efforts then you should check it out below.

Teairra Mari - Stay (Video Premiere)

Teairra Mari has dropped another video exclusively to World Star Hip Hop for her latest single "Stay" off her mixtape The Night Before X-Mas. I gotta give it to her, she just will not give up! After being dropped by Jay-Z and being replaced by Princess RiRi, Tea-Tea continues to make her music and put herself out there. And I mean, all of herself out there. Watch as she transforms into a sexy genie and struts around in lingerie until she lands at a strip joint and works the pole for the lucky guy who found her bottle. I loved her debut album and many singles after that, but she's going a little downhill. Get your shit together, gurl. Give us some more hits!

Beyonce - Girls (Who Run The World)

April 18, 2011

All hail! Queen B is here and ready to take back her throne! With her first single "Girls (Who Run The World)" leaking today, the world has gone and lost their wigs shit. Or at least I have. It's still in it's demo phase as of yet, but to be honest I am completely biased. Beyonce is just flawless and I love the track despite the blogosphere blowing up with negative comments. The song samples the 2009 Major Lazer hit “Pon De Floor”. It is completely infectious and makes you want to get up and dutty wine! Listen below and comment your thoughts!

Dev - In The Dark

April 17, 2011

Monotone singer Dev will be dropping her debut album The Night The Sun Came Up, on the 20th of September. We all know her from "Like a G6" and "Bass Down Low" and now she's back with a new single "In The Dark". I actually love this track the most out of anything she'd done. Awesome beat and great to dance to. Dev has also confirmed that she’ll be a featured artist on Timbaland’s first new single. Listen to Dev’s latest “In the Dark” below.

Rania - Dr. Feel Good (English Version Video Premiere)

Rania are a new K-Pop girl group created by American producer Teddy Riley with the goal of making them an international hit, and basically the Asian equivalent of The Pussycat Dolls except a lot skankier and with zoomed in shots of their coochies. It's quite amazing to watch. They have performed on various Korean music television programs and have actually been banned or censored from a few of them due to how scandalous the performances are. With pussy-popping like that I'm sure they will fit right in with the rest of North America. Here is the official English version of their first single "Dr. Feel Good".

Lady Gaga Reveals "Born This Way" Album Cover

April 16, 2011

After the release of her new single "Judas" online and to radio, Lady Godga has finally unveiled the album cover art for her new album Born This Way, due out May 23rd. I don't really know how I feel about it right now... She's been giving me mixed feelings all year. What do you guys think?

Jessie J performs on Ellen

April 15, 2011

Jessie J made her daytime television debut on Ellen today, performing both "Price Tag" and "Nobody's Perfect" and slaying it once again. Can't get enough of her voice.

Ke$ha - Stephen & Animal (Video Premiere)

Ke$hus Chri$tus has graced us with 2 new videos for 2 older songs. I love her stalker ways in the "Stephen" video. Reminds me of myself a friend... And then we have "Animal". Not as fun, but it has some great visuals. I'm not quite sure why these were only released now but maybe she just got bored and decided to make a video for 2 of her personal favourite tracks.

Britney Spears - Till The World Ends (Dance Video)

The Holy Spearit and her team had the genius idea of making a second version of "Till The World Ends". Pardon my sarcasm. A dance video? Really? I don't even see any dance moves. She stands in one spot, side-steps, turns to the side, flips her hair, chest pumps, adds a bunch of random arm movements to make it seem like she is doing any choreography, and then she claps... she is clapping! Wtf?! I'd much rather the apocalyptic version. At least we have a story to follow and don't have to witness this dancing disaster as much.

Jessie J - Nobody's Perfect (Video Premiere)

April 14, 2011

The flawless Jessie J premiered the video for her new single "Nobody's Perfect" today on her VEVO channel and I'd say this video is pretty fucking perfect! It's awesome, full of many different visuals, explosions and colours. I am loving everything she's doing. Performance wise and vocally, she's doing very well for herself. Let's she how she does outside of the UK, but so far so good! Enjoy and comment below.

Nikki & Rich feat. Fabolous - City Lights (Video Premiere)

April 13, 2011

Nikki & Rich aren't new to the scene, but they're new to me! Nikki is a California-born pastor's daughter who grew up singing in church, and Rich Velonskis is a former DJ from Queens, NY and established hip-hop/R&B producer. The two first met in 2007. Nikki was based in Nashville working as a background singer for Carrie Underwood and Rich was in Los Angeles producing tracks for Eve, Robin Thicke, Mario, and Ludacris, under the name Rich Skillz. A track he produced on Ludacris' No. 1 album Release Therapy earned him a "Best Rap Album" Grammy. Rich was looking for a strong vocalist and lyricist to collaborate with and take his tracks to the next level and he found the perfect match in Nikki. Anywho, I was kinda diggin' this so check it out and see what you think.

Neon Hitch - U + Me

If you don't know her by now, you better get your shit together! Neon Hitch is the definition of gypsy queen. Born in London, her mother bought a caravan to live in when their house burned down. They then began street performing, making and selling jewelry and clothing around Europe. By the age of four, she was traveling and performing with the circus as she trained as a trapeze artist, fire swinger and stilt walker. She left home at sixteen to live in India for a few years before settling in London for her music career. Within the next year she co-wrote and sang background vocals for song such as Ke$ha's "Blah Blah Blah". Hitch is currently working on her debut album, Beg, Borrow and Steal. She recently released her first single co-written by Sia, "Get Over U", which I have been completely obsessed with! Now she has released a new song "U + Me" which is accompanied by a video montage of Neon’s recent UK tour, and contains some crazy footage of her doing the splits and handstands on stage! Keep an ear out for this chick and check out the new track below.

Old Britney VS. New Britney

April 12, 2011

So I found this lovely video online today and thought I would share it with the rest of you non-believers and nay-sayers. It is true, the Britney we once knew is gone forever. I just can't accept the excuses that she has been through a divorce,  had a mental breakdown, shaved off all her hair, suffered a knee injury in 2004, gave birth to two children and has to focus on raising them, etc. Jennifer Lopez has recently had twins, not to mention she is over 10 years older than Brit, and she can still dance her ass off! It is a fact that Femme Fatale is an amazing album, but Britney is just not ready to go on tour with this. She's had so much time to prepare and is clearly not up to par with what we all expect from her. We all know she doesn't sing live, but if she's not going to sing OR dance well, what's the point in going to her show at all? She got away with it during the Circus era and thinks she can use her trickery on us again this time around. Well I ain't buyin' it! R.I.P Godney.

What do you guys think? Comment below!

Jessie J performs on the "Today Show"

The amazingly talented Jessie J, who has taken over the world with her stunning voice all the way from the UK, has made her way stateside to finally release her debut album Who You Are. The 22-year old has already performed on SNL recently and now continues her US promo tour. She stopped by the Today Show to perform her leading single "Price Tag" and another track off the album entitled "L.O.V.E.". If there is one song you MUST hear it is the title track "Who You Are". She is incredible live. Enjoy the performances below.

Kate Ryan - LoveLife (Video Premiere)

Belgian dance diva, Kate Ryan, is still making music at the age of 30! Here is her latest single "LoveLife" off her upcoming album Electroshock. She does look a little haggard, but not all of us can age gracefully. At least she's trying. The video is fun-ish. Basically she's working behind the scenes at a fashion show until one of the models falls on her ass and sprains her ankle and the designer makes Kate go up instead, giving her a full out makeover and slapping a weave on her head. She then proceeds to werk the catwalk in an ugly green long jacket thing with shiny panties underneath. She may as well have just vagazzled her cooch and gone commando. But to each his own. Enjoy!

Taryn Manning - Turn It Up

April 11, 2011

Taryn Manning of Crossroads (Britney's BFF) and 8 Mile (Eminem's preggers girlfriend) fame has decided to ditch her band Boomkat and go solo. She's recently been guest starring in Hawaii Five-0 as sexy ass Alex O'Loughlin's horribly botoxed lipped sister. In her most recent effort, here is her new dance track "Turn It Up". It's not bad. I've always liked her music.

Check it out or download it for free at http://www.tarynmanning.com/

Natalie Mejia - All The Way

Cocaine-smuggling and ex-Girlicious skank, Natalie Mejia, has made my gay boy heart beat a little faster with this amazing trashy pop tune. Unlike some other recording artists, Natalie actually writes her own lyrics, hence wanting to go "All The Way". This is the best thing to make love to my ears since Melissa Molinaro's "Dance Floor" a few weeks back. Werk!

Wynter Gordon's official 2nd single "Til Death"

Dance diva Wynter Gordon is back with her official 2nd single "Til Death". This club-banger picks up right where "Dirty Talk" left off. The Denzal Park radio edit below is exclusively for Australia, seeing as that is where she has been the most successful. Wynter’s a multi-platinum chart-topper down under. The original version, produced by DJ Tom Neville, will serve as the official US edit. “Til Death” is due to hit Aussie iTunes this Friday.

Pia Toscano on Regis & Kelly

Unfairly axed American Idol contestant, Pia Toscano, dropped by Regis & Kelly this morning to perform Stevie Wonder’s “All is Fair in Love” and to discuss the outrageous outcome of last weeks show. Her voice is fucking flawless and I have no idea how America voted her off. But a premature elimination does not always mean the end (ie: Jennifer Hudson). E! News is reporting that Interscope Records are interested in producing a first single with Pia and release it post American Idol, but I've also heard rumors that Jimmy Iovine wants to release something as soon as possible for some cross-promotion. Either way, this bitch has a bright future. Someone needs to sign her ASAP!

Beyonce's New Single

Some pictures have been floating around that show Beyonce in some heinous 70's inspired outfit. Rumor has it that it's for either her new album art or for her new video. It is said that her new single is scheduled to be released sometime by the end of this month! Apparently the new single may possibly be called "Girl" and is another female empowering song. It is also said to sample a very well known club track.
I cannot wait to hear this. Everything she does is gold. The Queen B is almost back, bitches!

Nicki Minaj officially on tour with Britney

The Queen Nicki Minajesty will be joining The Holy Spearit on tour this summer! Sources reveal that the deal was officially finalized last week. After Enrique Iglesias pulled out last minute due to his ego and feeling like he'd actually be opening for Britney and not co-headlining the tour (obviously) as discussed, BritBrit managed to snag someone much more deserving and far more superior. Any exposure is good for Nicki right now even though she's gotten pretty big this last year, but maybe she'll garner some new fans after this tour. I would really love to go, but it's not worth it to see Brit waddle her way around the stage lip-synching (badly) and not putting any effort into her dance moves.

Rihanna feat. Britney - S&M RiHmix

After asking her fans via Twitter who they would like to see her collaborate with next, Rihanna actually managed to deliver sooner rather than later. Miss Britney Spears was the most voted and history was made. Two of the worlds biggest popstars together on one track since Gaga and Beyonce. I love Rihanna to death, but this is kind of a hot mess. Instead of doing a completely new track, she got Brit to add her auto-tuned voice to a song that's already been out for months! We'll see how well it does on the charts but honestly, Britney's voice does not suit the song at all. Should be fun to dance to at the club though...

Ellie Goulding performs "Starry Eyed" on Jimmy Kimmel

April 09, 2011

Ellie Goulding made her US TV debut this week with a performance of her UK top five hit “Starry Eyed” live on Jimmy Kimmel. She sounded a little sick or something of the sort because her voice doesn't really sound at full capacity, but she still did a great job. I had the pleasure of seeing her live in concert a few weeks ago and she was flawless. I'm also totally crushing over her keyboardist. So cute.

Cedric Gervais feat. Jessica Sutta - Where Ever You Are

April 08, 2011

Ex-Pussycat Doll, Jessica Sutta, has landed another feature on another great dance track. She killed it in "White Lies" with Paul Van Dyk a few years ago, and now she's hooked up with Cedric Gervais for the song "Where Ever You Are", included in his second album Miamication. The album also includes features from the likes of Mya, Second Sun and Rachel Starr. If you like electronic/dance music, you may just really enjoy his album.
